Hello! Hope this finds you well and enjoying the wonderful sunny warmth we’ve had this week. Just a quick note for those who are following the Motorcycle for Miracles fundraising journey and are interested in continued updates and opportunities to participate. Due to the outpouring of support and generosity of big-hearted people like you, we have expanded our vision for what may be possible.
Our goal for the new “Alyssa Rae Johnson Endowment Fund” at SickKids Hospital in Toronto is $100,000.
Every single penny, 100%, goes to helping sick kids get well.
The Motorcycle For Miracles website and facebook group (Motorcycle for Miracles Hall of Fame) first revved its engine in November 2013 as a way of keeping in touch with facebook friends who donated to the Alyssa Rae Johnson Fund for SickKids Hospital via Children’s Miracle Network. Through the website and fb group, we reached out to share about: Alyssa’s story, the impact SickKids Hospital has made in our community and the outstanding contributions made by RE/MAX.
If you joined us early on, you followed the Motorcycle for Miracles inaugural journey via Bruce and Holly’s blog posts, photos and route tracker. Thank you for being an important part of the journey! YOUR donations created the momentum and helped to generate more and more interest as the journey progressed.
Donor Fund Celebration
Tonight we will be celebrating the success of the journey so far, in the SickKids’ Donor Hall, in the company of like-minded folks committed to making miracles happen for the hospital that has made such a difference to all of us. Alyssa Rae will be getting a commemorative plaque 🙂 Stay tuned for a photo of the plaque via Instagram!
Motorcycle Demo Day
Then on Friday, the Newmarket Serpa BMW dealer is hosting a Demonstration Day for anyone interested in trying out any of the BMW motorcycles. (Latest: “There are still spots available for our 2, 3 and 4pm ride, don’t forget to email and register with Miguel Betz at Miguel.betz@serpabmw.com!”) We are looking forward to introducing “Miracle” to current and future BMW motorcycle fans. Proceeds from the day have been generously earmarked for the Alyssa Rae Johnson Endowment Fund at SickKids!
Frankie the Barber BBQ!
Also, for those within driving distance to downtown Stayner, Ontario, our very own Frankie the Barber has, in typical Frankie-style, taken it upon himself to generously run a charity BBQ benefitting the Alyssa Rae Johnson Endowment Fund for SickKids Hospital. The event is happening Saturday June 7th starting at 11 a.m. until the food runs out!
