Hey everyone!
Today was basically a lazy day. We stayed in Pensacola Beach overnight (as most of you already know) and I somehow managed to get the GUEST room upstairs, leaving dad with the air mattress in the basement (Yay!).
I woke up around 8:30 AM and desperately tried to get back to sleep….and failed. I gave up around 9:00 AM and came out into the kitchen for some toasted sourdough Fester bread with peanut butter!
“Fester” is a living yeast organism that can survive if you feed it some flour, sugar, salt and water every few days and when Fester grows big enough you can take part of it along with some bread ingredients, mash it into a bowl (like Play-Doh), let it rise overnight and then pound it down again, put it in pans, toss it in the oven to bake…and it is THE. BEST. BREAD. EVER. It has more sugar than normal bread so its a lot sweeter and it’s just so yummy… I love Fester bread!
After breakfast we walked around the dock and around the house. It looks a lot different in the daytime! It was nice and warm outside so hopefully the good weather will hold up for when we leave Monday.
We had more Fester bread for lunch and it was still delicious!
After lunch I took some pictures of the dock, Mike’s three boats, the house, the driveway made out of shells, the motorcycle, the baking Fester bread Mike had just put in the oven, the interior of the house, the Atlantic Ocean and…the car.

Mike has a classic red 1967 Austin Healey and he took me for a spin around his neighbourhood. It was a lot of fun to be in a sports car and see all of the houses around his home! When we came back, Dr. Mike went to work saving lives at the hospital and Dad and I used our iPads to get caught up on journals and photos.
Just before sunset dad and I walked down to the beach, walking across the same boardwalk that I learned how to walk on when I was a baby! Pensacola has the whitest sand in the world (due to the millions of years of quartz rocks clashing in the seas) and in my opinion, the softest to the touch! There was a cute little snowman there made out of sand and we got to watch the beautiful sunset before walking back to Mike’s house. We then washed off the sand and saltwater from the Atlantic Ocean (we hadn’t been swimming but we had been splashed) and jumped in the hot tub after putting on our bathing suits. After the hot tub we walked into the house and were greeted by freshly baked Fester bread! We munched on that for a minute before heading out for supper at a well-known local restaurant called Flounders.
I got pasta Alfredo and Mike and dad both got mahi mahi, a type of fish. When we came back, we had some blueberries and water, and Mike and I played his baby grand piano (he’s very good!) before everyone turned in for the night. And that’s about it for today! Bye!
